Annie Chen is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of memory, place, and design. Drawing on a background in Surface Design and over a decade of experience in art licensing, Annie brings a refined sense of form, colour, and composition to her abstract geometric paintings. Her work is known for its bold simplicity, architectural influence, and the way it invites quiet contemplation.
Born in Taiwan and now based in British Columbia, Annie's creative practice is deeply shaped by her bicultural perspective and her early training in graphic design. Before turning her focus to fine art, she built a successful career under the studio name Lemonni, collaborating with international clients such as Crate & Barrel, Baby Mori, LG, and Hobby Lobby. Her illustrations and patterns have appeared on everything from home decor and packaging to children’s products and textiles.
Annie’s paintings are a continuation of her design sensibility, balancing precise structure with emotional resonance. Recent series draw inspiration from urban landscapes, everyday objects, and architectural features, particularly those connected to her personal heritage. Through colour, rhythm, and form, she builds visual narratives that are both deeply personal and broadly accessible.
Annie's work has been shown in local exhibitions in British Columbia and is held in private collections internationally. As she continues to expand her fine art practice, she brings the same clarity, intention, and craftsmanship that have long defined her creative career.
