Tracing Home – A journey through space, colour, and memory
This collection of paintings explores the intersection of simplicity, geometry, and colour through a personal lens. Rooted in the architectural features I encountered growing up in my hometown, Tainan, my work focuses on elements like window railings, building contours, and ornamental features that define a space. While these elements speak to my heritage, they also reflect my ongoing exploration of design, memory, and the visual language I’ve developed over time.
I’m drawn to the power of clean lines and colour palettes that feel both refined and intuitive. Through these pieces, I’ve sought to understand the influences that have shaped my artistic practice—both in terms of where I come from and the universal appeal of minimalist, bold design. The process of creating these works has become a journey of introspection, a means of connecting with my roots, while also inviting viewers to discover and appreciate the beauty of form and structure.
This exhibition is a reflection of my ongoing search to understand my past, while presenting it in a way that resonates beyond geographical boundaries, tapping into a shared human appreciation for simplicity, beauty, and the enduring impact of architecture on our lives.
